Meditation Blog
The longer guides that explain a practice from end to end.
This section collects the longer, general pieces — the ones that explain a practice from end to end rather than solving one narrow problem. If you are browsing rather than hunting for something specific, it is a reasonable place to begin.
The range is wide on purpose. Breathing exercises and the body scan are foundational and work for almost everyone. The emotional healing and inner child guides are slower, heavier material and assume you are dealing with something in particular. Mindful living and gratitude meditation sit in between: ordinary practices for ordinary weeks, which is most weeks.
What these articles have in common is the level of practical detail. Each gives you the actual steps, how long it takes, what usually goes wrong in the first few attempts, and an honest note on who it does not suit. That last part is the one most guides leave out, and it is why people conclude that meditation does not work for them when the truth is that one particular technique did not.
For the complete list of everything published here, including the shorter and more specific pieces, the full journal is the better view.
Where to start
- Breathing Exercises for Anxiety: 6 Techniques That Work — the most broadly useful place to start.
- Body Scan Meditation for Sleep: A Step-by-Step Guide — if you would rather lie down than sit.
- Self-Compassion: How to Stop Being So Hard on Yourself — if the problem is the tone of your own commentary.
These are the longer pieces. If you are looking for something specific rather than a general guide — a technique for a particular moment, or help with one situation — the full journal lists everything, filtered by topic and searchable.
